Reviews
This is a review of the restaurant, we didn’t stay in the hotel. Excellent fresh sushi and sashimi. We went for lunch on a Saturday and had a great meal, paired with a few different sakes. The waiter was very instructive in telling us more about how sake is made and the different classifications; we enjoyed learning more about them. There is an international menu for those who don’t like Japanese, but I can’t speak to it as we always have the delicious Japanese food!
This review is for the restaurant.
Visited on Sunday. Ample parking and received a warm welcome at the reception area. Shown to our table and we handed over our jackets. Immediately offered water and given the menus,
Didn't spend a lot of time looking at the menu as it was Sunday and December so that means Roast Turkey!!. Luckily that was on the menu, my partner had the roast beef, We didn't opt for starters.
The Turkey was delicious and came with the usual sides (pig in blanket, stuffing, sprouts, etc). I had to ask for Cranberry sauce, this came and it looked home made, very Nice!
The Beef dish looked twice the size of my Turkey. Including 2 Yorkshire puddings and lots of veg. It was the size one would get at a carvery, I was a little jealous. Both dishes came with gravy on the side.
For desert, I was a little disappointed with choice, although there were enough available (just none that appealed to me), Partner had Mochi balls.
Worth noting that there is a significant Japanese offering throughout the food and drinks menus.
It was my birthday and I was presented with a nice dish of Orange Flavoured chocolates served in a bowl of dry ice which looked very special,
Had a couple of Espresso Martinis too.
There was some live entertainment , a female singer singing classic older songs and a few Christmas carols.
Prices are high, I think a roast was £36 but the dining room, service and quality was excellent. Additionally it was all very clean. Really enjoyed our visit and has made me think Maybe I should pay more, rather than going budget.
A incredibly confortable hotel. Modern and recently built rooms with everything you can ask for. A quiet hotel with lovely beds and large rooms. The bathroom with both shower and bath was perfect. A delicious Japanese restaurant with also so English dishes to top it all. Great all around !
We only had a Sunday lunch so I couldn't give a rating for the rooms. However, the restaurant and toilets were spotlessly clean, well decorated and maintained, so I imagine the rooms will be to the same standard. That lovely spa aroma outside the restaurant is a breath of fresh air and the garden areas were well manicured and decorated for halloween. The singer was absolutely brilliant and just added to the 5 star rating I've already given. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our roasts were very tasty. A couple of nice touches in addition to what we ordered were most welcome but you'll have to dine there yourselves to see what they are. If you've been you'll already know 😉. Top drawer place, right up our street and we'll definitely return.
This hotel was such a gem only 30 minutes outside of London - complete luxury! The bed was so comfortable, the shower had wonderful volume and pressure, the rooms so tastefully designed and clean, and the continental breakfast was the best hotel breakfast ever! Service was very attentive and we always had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone!
Had a 1 night stop over here while dining at The Hand and Flowers in Marlow. This is a beautiful hotel and has a Michelin star itself. We didn't actually eat here but the restaurant looked lovely. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The room was lovely with a great ensuite. We missed breakfast in the morning but were given complimentary coffees to go. Would highly recommend.
Had a fantastic birthday meal with a party of eight. Great cocktails and service. Every course was delicious and presented beautifully. Decent portions too. Finished with a nice Happy Birthday desert complements of the establishment.
A truly superb experience on Friday night.
The omakase counter looks superb, and the chefs do it great justice, adding …
